Concept boundaries
A passage that answers a specific question directly, then supplies the evidence and conditions needed to use it correctly.
A short paragraph is not automatically accurate, original, or worthy of citation.
A discrete statement paired with its support, scope, source, and maintenance status.
Splitting a claim into a card does not repair weak evidence.
Useful contribution beyond the summaries already available, such as original data, a decision method, or first-hand implementation detail.
Novel phrasing of common advice is not information gain.
Core lesson
A useful passage states the decision, the support, and the boundary without forcing the reader to reconstruct them.
Start with the exact question and a direct response. Follow with the evidence or reasoning, define when the answer applies, name exceptions, and provide the next useful action.
Keep source attribution close to the claim it supports. A long reference list cannot rescue a paragraph when readers cannot tell which source supports which statement.
A page that only recombines familiar definitions is easy to replace with another source.
Add a defensible contribution: a transparent comparison method, first-party observation, worked example, reusable template, tested implementation, or clearly argued decision rule.
Original does not mean dramatic. A precise boundary or a documented failure can be more useful than a broad claim. Preserve the source, date, method, and limitations of any evidence.
Decision framework
Can this passage be used correctly outside its surrounding page?
What exact question does the passage answer?
Rewrite until the response is direct and independently understandable.
What evidence or reasoning supports it?
Attach the source or reduce the claim to what is supported.
Where would the answer stop being true or useful?
State scope, conditions, exceptions, and freshness.
What should the reader do with the answer?
Provide a decision step that follows from the evidence.
Worked non-client example
A draft says structured data improves AI visibility and recommends adding every available property.
Narrow the answer: use valid structured data to clarify visible entities and relationships, then measure citation separately.
The revised claim matches what the implementation can verify.
Validation can prove syntax and visible-fact alignment, not selection by every retrieval or generation system.
Reusable work template
Draft one brief per priority question before expanding the page.
Write the exact decision the reader needs to make.
Respond in one or two sentences without an introductory detour.
List the source, method, or reasoning for each material claim.
State audience, conditions, exceptions, geography, and freshness where relevant.
Name the first-party detail, framework, template, or analysis this page adds.
Assign fact owner, review trigger, and proof of the latest check.
Failure modes and corrections
The page restates several common definitions but makes no usable decision.
The reader gains no distinct method, evidence, or next action.
Choose one question and add a defensible contribution.
Many references appear at the end while claims have no clear support mapping.
Reviewers cannot determine which evidence supports which statement.
Attach each material claim to its source and scope.
A short answer sounds decisive after its conditions were removed.
Isolation changes the meaning and can spread an overclaim.
Include the minimum condition and evidence inside the answer block.
